Directional Drilling Locator

Job overview

The Directional Drilling Locator role is onsite in Salt Lake City, UT, with travel to project sites throughout Utah. Pay is $30–$40 per hour, based on experience. SNAM Communications supports underground and aerial telecommunications infrastructure projects across Utah. The Locator tracks the drill head and communicates bore depth, pitch, direction, and trajectory to the drill operator. This information helps guide drilling around existing utilities and supports safe, productive underground construction.

What you'll do

• Locate and track the drill head
• monitor bore depth, pitch, direction, and trajectory
• communicate continuously with the drill operator
• interpret bore plans and utility markings
• use DigiTrak Falcon F5 or comparable equipment
• identify mismatches between utility information and field conditions and stop or redirect work when needed
• travel to project sites throughout Utah.
