The Special Security Representative (SSR) / Special Security Office Support Specialist role is onsite in Fort Belvoir, VA. Compensation is not specified. Through security administration, training, incident support, and compliance work, the SSR helps safeguard information and facilities and keep Special Security Office operations effective.

What you'll do

• Manage and update DISS, Scattered Castles, NBIS, and local personnel trackers
• process SCI access nominations, conduct prescreening interviews, and coordinate eligibility upgrades
• implement ICD 705 physical security standards for SCIFs
• review or manage Fixed Facility Checklists, TEMPEST addendums, and access-control and intrusion-detection systems
• provide access control, maintain visitor logs, and assist with alarm responses
• establish or review security plans and agreements
• conduct SCI indoctrinations, refresher training, and debriefings
• administer NATO, CNWDI, and Restricted Data briefings
• assist with preliminary inquiries into SCI incidents
• perform self-inspections and draft IDS reports
• maintain personnel security files
• monitor task-management tools, prepare weekly activity reports, consolidate statistics, and maintain SSO electronic records.

Why this role

Requires 6–10 years of relevant DoD special security experience, relevant security-field certification, and active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Working knowledge of specified DoD and Intelligence Community security policies and hands-on experience with DISS, Scattered Castles, and NBIS are required.
