The HVAC Operations and Maintenance Technician, Mid-Level role is an onsite, full-time position based near Mojave, CA, paying $27 to $36.50 per hour. The technician supports Terra-Gen’s utility-scale battery energy storage assets by maintaining their thermal management systems. The role performs scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork on battery energy storage system HVAC and cooling infrastructure to support reliable operation, safe temperatures, and asset performance. The schedule may rotate and may include overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and an on-call rotation; some travel is required.

What you'll do

• Maintain battery energy storage system HVAC and thermal management systems
• troubleshoot and repair refrigeration, HVAC units, chillers, and liquid-to-air heat exchangers
• conduct electrical, refrigerant pressure, and airflow diagnostics
• maintain dielectric fluid and glycol cooling loops
• assist with commissioning, performance validation, and thermal optimization using PLC/SCADA systems
• respond to high-temperature and system alarms
• follow high-voltage and environmental safety standards.

Why this role

The role requires 2–5 years of industrial HVAC, commercial refrigeration, or energy storage experience and EPA 608 Universal Certification. Preferred qualifications include journeyman or licensed industrial electrician status and OSHA 10/30, CPR, or NFPA 70E training.
