Clinical Dietitian

The Clinical Dietitian role is onsite in Eunice, LA. Compensation is not specified in the posting. The position supports patient nutrition care and serves as a nutrition resource for medical, nursing, and ancillary personnel. The dietitian evaluates patients’ nutritional needs, helps plan therapeutic diets, provides counseling and education, and follows nutritional care over time. The role also supports safe, nutritionally adequate meals and contributes to quality improvement and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Monitor diet orders for patients who are NPO or on clear or surgical liquid diets
• evaluate nutritional needs for parenteral and enteral nutrition
• interview patients about dietary history and preferences
• calculate diabetic and other therapeutic diets and provide counseling
• document patient contacts
• provide nutrition education and staff in-services as requested
• maintain diet and policy manuals
• evaluate meals and nutritional adequacy
• follow up on nutritional care and report quality improvement findings.
