Senior General Ledger Accountant

Job overview

The Senior General Ledger Accountant position is onsite in Woodland, CA, with compensation of $90,000–$100,000 per year. The role reports to the Accounting Manager at Sakata Seed America and supports accurate, timely accounting records and reporting. The accountant contributes to month-end close, financial reporting, tax and compliance filings, intercompany reconciliation, and audit support. The work helps maintain reliable financial information and internal controls in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

What you'll do

• Prepare adjusting and recurring journal entries
• participate in month-end close
• prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations
• support standalone and consolidated financial entries
• prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and explain account variances
• maintain accounting records under GAAP
• manage property tax accruals and schedules
• reconcile intercompany balances
• prepare and review tax, licensing, and compliance filings
• prepare audit schedules
• document internal controls and processes for JSOX compliance
• assist with special projects.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and 3–5 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger responsibilities. CPA is preferred; advanced Excel is required.
