Engagement Specialist — Supportive Services, Second Shift

The Engagement Specialist role is onsite in Dayton, OH, with pay of $19–$20 per hour. The position works second shift, 3:30 p.m. to midnight. Miami Valley Housing Opportunities provides supportive services to residents with behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders. Using lived experience in recovery, the specialist engages residents and provides community-based support that promotes housing stability, independence, recovery, and resiliency. The role coordinates services, supports crisis response, advocates for clients, and maintains required service documentation and housing-related follow-up.

What you'll do

• Build professional rapport and use personal recovery experience to offer encouragement while maintaining boundaries
• assess needs and coordinate community services
• provide or ensure services in individual plans
• respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention
• engage clients using trauma-sensitive practices
• maintain service documentation and client records, including HMIS
• support housing, entitlements, and basic resources
• conduct outreach and follow-up
• visit client units to check lease and program compliance
• lead or co-lead monthly tenant meetings and activities.
