The Machinist, Machine Shop, First Shift role is onsite in Ocala, FL. Pay is $20.22 per hour. The position works at the manufacturing and distribution facility for a company whose business includes home organization, lawn and garden tools, outdoor living, and cleaning tools. The machinist produces precision parts and supports manufacturing quality by setting up and operating manual and CNC equipment, inspecting finished work, and maintaining a safe, organized shop. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with overtime when needed.

What you'll do

• Fabricate machine parts to required dimensions and tolerances using manual or CNC milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders
• read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• select tools, fixtures, and materials
• measure and inspect finished parts
• adjust machine settings
• troubleshoot and make repairs or adjustments
• participate in equipment rebuilding and building
• maintain equipment and an organized workspace
• follow safety protocols
• and collaborate to improve manufacturing processes and product quality. Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, machinist apprenticeship certification, 3+ years of machinist experience, blueprint reading, metalworking and CAD/CAM, engineering drawing skills, welding and cutting tool skills, and CNC programming and operation.
