The Field Technician Support II – Operations Engineering role is based in Orangeburg, SC, with telecommuting from a home office and work at customer sites across South Carolina. The technician installs, configures, maintains, and supports communications systems and equipment at Public Safety Answering Points. Field troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and deployment support help maintain reliable emergency communications and uninterrupted 911 service.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and repair field issues at PSAPs in coordination with the Network Operations Center
• provide on-call coverage on weekday nights and all day on weekends
• perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• support new PSAP deployments and moves or changes
• troubleshoot telephony and VoIP-based NG9-1-1 systems and call routing
• supervise subcontractors during site deployments
• install, configure, and test routers, switches, workstations, telephones, and related equipment
• provide project updates
• update ticketing records
• maintain spare equipment inventory
• participate in special projects.
