Data Engineering Lead

The Data Engineering Lead role is hybrid, with three days onsite in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is $80–$90 per hour on a W-2 basis. The role supports enterprise data engineering initiatives that advance analytics, governance, and AI enablement. The lead combines hands-on engineering with technical direction, building and governing reliable enterprise data pipelines and platforms across cloud environments. The role also mentors engineers and partners across engineering, analytics, architecture, platform, and business teams to improve data quality, observability, resiliency, and performance.

What you'll do

• Lead hands-on development, code reviews, and engineering oversight
• establish AWS development environments, infrastructure standards, security controls, and migration strategies
• architect and govern data pipelines, ETL, ingestion, and orchestration
• identify data gaps and implement scalable automation
• build reliable, observable pipelines and optimize data warehouses
• communicate technical decisions and mentor engineers
• lead cross-functional initiatives.
