Staff Accountant

Job overview

The Staff Accountant role is fully remote and open to candidates located in the United States. Compensation is $75,000–$85,000 per year. Swing Education is a technology-enabled marketplace connecting K–12 schools and districts with qualified substitute teachers. The accountant owns billing and accounts receivable and contributes to close, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and audit work. Accurate invoicing and collections support the company’s school partners and its goal of helping keep qualified teachers in classrooms.

What you'll do

• Manage weekly invoicing and daily cash application
• maintain accurate open-invoice records
• conduct collections with school districts
• assess billing disputes and issue appropriate credit memos
• prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and audits
• improve billing and close processes
• assist with accounts payable as needed.
