Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant role is onsite in Columbia, MO, and pays $24–$26 per hour. The position supports Compass Health Network’s mission-driven, community-based oral health care team. The assistant supports dentists and hygienists during procedures and helps maintain safe, efficient clinic operations. The role also contributes to preventive oral health education and school-based outreach, while supporting patient comfort and care.

What you'll do

• Assist dentists and hygienists with preventive, restorative, oral surgery, and prosthodontic procedures
• prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
• take radiographs and vital signs
• perform dental charting and sterilization
• educate patients on oral hygiene and nutrition’s impact on oral health
• participate in school-based outreach and the Preventive Services Program
• support inventory, maintenance, and administrative tasks
• travel to other dental clinics as needed
• assist with front desk duties when cross-trained.

Why this role

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m. At least two years of dental assisting experience is preferred; a valid unrestricted driver’s license and BLS certification or ability to obtain it are required. Travel to other clinics may be needed.
