Building Maintenance Associate

The Building Maintenance Associate role is onsite in Washington, DC, with pay of $20–$25 per hour. The Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center operates a historic facility supporting cultural, recreational, educational, and social-justice programs. The associate maintains safe, clean, and reliable facilities through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, grounds work, and work-order documentation, supporting the Center's programs and visitors.

What you'll do

• Inspect facilities and perform preventive maintenance and repairs
• complete basic carpentry, painting, drywall, ceiling, door, lock, hardware, and fixture repairs
• perform minor plumbing work and assist with HVAC maintenance
• identify issues requiring licensed or specialized service
• maintain grounds and exterior areas
• operate tools and equipment safely
• complete work orders and document work
• communicate issues and completed work
• assist contractors and respond to urgent facility issues.
