Breast Navigator

Job overview

The Breast Navigator role is onsite in Tucson, AZ. Compensation is not specified. The position supports patients and families through breast-health services and coordinates with radiologists, breast surgeons, oncologists, primary care providers, and support services. The navigator helps patients move through screening, diagnostic imaging, biopsy, consultation, and follow-up by coordinating care, explaining next steps, and addressing barriers to access. The role supports timely, patient-centered care through advocacy, interdisciplinary communication, accurate documentation, and tracking of care milestones.

What you'll do

• Guide patients through breast screening, diagnostic imaging, biopsy, and surgical consultations
• assess barriers to care
• coordinate appointments, referrals, testing, and follow-up
• educate patients about breast health and care processes
• facilitate communication among patients and providers
• maintain electronic medical record documentation and track milestones and outcomes
• participate in program initiatives and quality activities as assigned.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing, mammography, or a related healthcare discipline and applicable licensure or certification, plus at least three years of relevant experience. CBPN, BHCN, or equivalent navigation certification is preferred.
