Job overview
The Family Support Counselor, EMPACT role is onsite in Tempe, AZ, with work based in the Glendale or Tempe office and services delivered in homes and community settings. Compensation is not specified. EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center provides community behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services. The role contributes to children’s safety and well-being through family-centered support, risk planning, and crisis stabilization with the Child and Family Team.
What you'll do
- Promote children’s and families’ health, safety, and emotional well-being
- provide mentoring and life and social skills support
- coordinate with stakeholders and community resources
- provide psychosocial rehabilitation living-skills training and respite
- provide in-home family and individual counseling
- identify risks and develop safeguards with children, families, and support networks
- assist the Child and Family Team with crisis stabilization and transitions between levels of care
- address challenging behaviors respectfully using strengths-based approaches.
