CDR General Services is seeking a shipfitter to support ship and barge component work in an industrial environment. The shipfitter reads specifications, measures and assembles structural steel and marine components, and checks fit and dimensions before welding and fabrication processes. The work contributes to accurate, quality-compliant production while following safety procedures and meeting project schedules.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shipbuilding specifications
• measure, lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel and marine components
• prepare materials for welding and fabrication
• verify dimensions and fit-up
• operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment safely
• inspect completed work for quality and specification compliance
• maintain a clean and safe work area
• collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.
