The Estimator - Heavy Civil Sitework & Utilities role is primarily onsite in Ellington, CT, with occasional local site visits and meetings. The stated annual salary range is $95,000–$150,000. Sunset Valley Construction is a sitework and underground utilities contractor building and maintaining infrastructure. As the company’s first full-time estimator, this role develops reliable bids and improves estimating consistency, tracking, and handoffs as bid volume grows. It works with the owner and project teams to assemble civil/site estimates and support informed project pursuit and delivery.

What you'll do

• Identify projects to bid
• prepare estimates and takeoffs for excavation, utilities, grading, paving coordination, subcontractor scopes, alternates, and value engineering
• organize pricing, labor, equipment, and vendor input
• review calculations with the owner
• track bids and outcomes
• visit sites and attend pre-bids and local meetings. May assist with submittals, scheduling, buyouts, and project coordination when estimating is caught up.
