Industrial Designer II

Job overview

The Industrial Designer II role is hybrid in Boston, MA, with two core in-office days and flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week. The stated target annual base pay range is $86,300–$115,000. SimpliSafe is a home security company focused on keeping every home secure. The designer turns customer needs into physical product concepts and carries designs from early ideation through mass production. The role combines prototyping, user feedback, CAD, design documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to help create the next generation of home security products.

What you'll do

• Translate user needs and insights into product concepts, forms, and experiences
• build physical prototypes and foam models to test ideas and ergonomics
• collaborate with product management, engineering, user research, and UX
• sketch form, color, material, finish, and interactions
• create CAD models and 3D renderings
• produce drawings, specifications, and production artwork
• communicate design-for-manufacturing issues
• work with engineering and manufacturing partners to preserve design intent
• contribute to the Design Language System.
