Engineering Technician

The Engineering Technician role is onsite in Newport, RI, with compensation of $55,000–$70,000 per year. The position supports the Ranges, Engineering, and Analysis Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. The technician helps the multidisciplinary team sustain undersea warfare systems by preparing and operating test equipment, installing system components, and maintaining and repairing machinery used for electrical and mechanical testing. The work contributes to systems safety, environmental qualification testing, and range sustainment.

What you'll do

• Perform rigging operations using cranes and handling equipment
• install interfacing, mounting, and connecting components
• maintain, operate, and repair test equipment and machinery
• implement customer requirements for electrical and mechanical equipment testing
• use hand and power tools safely
• and operate hydraulic-powered test machinery.
