What you'll do
- Lead and supervise daily structural steel fabrication shop operations
- plan work schedules, staffing, equipment, material flow, and priorities
- review shop drawings, cut lists, production requirements, and project schedules
- assign work to shop personnel
- monitor progress and adjust priorities
- develop and implement standard work methods
- improve productivity, quality, safety, and accountability
- ensure work meets drawings, specifications, weld procedures, and quality standards
- coordinate with project managers, detailers, purchasing, shipping, quality control, and management
- identify shortages, drawing issues, conflicts, and bottlenecks
- promote safe practices and an organized shop
- coach and train team members
- support continuous improvement.
