What you'll do

• Plan and implement curriculum and age-appropriate classroom experiences
• maintain classroom supervision and children’s health and safety
• complete weekly planning documents, observation logs, attendance, and educational records
• coordinate planning with the teacher’s assistant and aide
• conduct educational field trips
• communicate with parents through orientations, conferences, home visits, and informal discussions
• conduct Brigance screening and High Scope COR assessments
• attend staff meetings and professional development.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree and New York State certificate, or eligibility under a study plan, required; master’s degree preferred. One year of Head Start and/or UPK teaching experience required. English/Spanish fluency preferred.
