The Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach – Men’s and Women’s role is onsite in Lafayette, CA, at Bentley School’s Upper School campus for the Spring 2027 season. The pay range is $20–$29 per hour. Working with the head coach, the assistant coach helps develop and run the track and field program, with a focus on hurdlers and field events. The role supports student-athlete development through coaching, strength and conditioning, mentorship, and adherence to athletic rules and school expectations.

What you'll do

• Work with the head coach to develop the field program
• assist with planning and executing track and field activities
• help organize practices, particularly for hurdlers and field events including jumps and throws
• coach athletes individually and in groups
• help develop and implement strength and conditioning
• monitor student-athlete conduct
• follow state, section, conference, and league rules
• build positive relationships across the school community
• mentor students.
