Head Start Teacher

The Head Start Teacher role is an onsite position in Eden, MD, paying $20.19–$25.00 per hour depending on teacher level and qualifications. The teacher supports SHORE UP! Inc.'s Head Start program for children and families. The role plans and delivers developmentally appropriate classroom learning for children up to age four, monitors progress and safety, and works with families and colleagues. It also supports the program's health, education, and social services, including for children with intellectual or physical disabilities.

What you'll do

• Plan and provide learning opportunities across cognitive, literacy, language, social, play, motor, arts, self-care, health, and nutrition areas
• assess student progress
• follow referral policies
• communicate with families through home visits, conferences, and other contacts
• promote health and nutrition
• monitor student safety
• maintain records and confidentiality
• guide classroom volunteers
• attend meetings and staff development
• and select classroom supplies.

Why this role
