The Veterinary Technician role is onsite in New Orleans, LA, with a stated pay range of $20–$23 per hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The Louisiana SPCA Community Clinic provides high-volume spay/neuter services and preventative and essential veterinary care to help keep pets and owners together. The technician assists veterinarians with examinations, treatment, and surgery while supporting safe, clean clinic operations and positive client care. The role contributes to patient care by handling and monitoring animals, communicating concerns to the veterinary team, and explaining procedures and available resources to clients.

What you'll do

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatment, and surgery
• identify health concerns, draw samples, and restrain animals
• prepare and monitor animals during and after surgery
• promptly report medical concerns
• clean, sanitize, and stock clinic spaces and materials
• maintain case confidentiality
• explain procedures and clinic resources to clients.

Why this role

Registered Veterinary Technician certification is not required, but animal-handling experience is required. Must be able to work holidays and weekends, stand for eight or more hours, and lift at least 50 pounds.
