Job overview

Certified Medication Assistant - LTC in Wessington, SD. This is a contract position with a salary range of $18.50 - $28.00 per hour. Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of service to seniors. The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as a caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse, administering prescribed medications as delegated and within their scope of practice.

What you'll do

  • Serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse.
  • Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per plan of care.
  • Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities.
  • Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
  • Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.

Education
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
