The Software Developer role is onsite in Chantilly, VA; compensation is $125,899–$189,878 per year. NS2 Mission’s engineering team develops software for space domain awareness and intelligence-community systems supporting the defense of national assets. The developer contributes across the application lifecycle, building and maintaining Java software and applying astrodynamics knowledge to mission requirements. The work supports satellite situational-awareness data processing and distribution through scalable, resilient systems and collaboration with engineering, data-science, and mission teams.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring software components
• apply astrodynamics knowledge to mission algorithms
• build, test, and deploy microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
• work with MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, ActiveMQ, and Kafka
• contribute to scalable and resilient system design
• collaborate with systems engineers, data scientists, and mission experts
• participate in design, coding, testing, debugging, configuration management, and production support.
