Project Engineer, Special Projects

The Project Engineer, Special Projects role is onsite in Richmond, VA. Compensation is $60,000–$80,000 per year. Atlantic Constructors’ Special Projects team delivers smaller commercial installations, including HVAC, electrical, piping, ventilation, fire suppression, and plumbing work. The engineer coordinates planning and execution of small to medium commercial construction projects, aligning internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors. The role helps deliver work on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety expectations.

What you'll do

• Build relationships with project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
• help manage day-to-day commercial construction jobs
• coordinate departments and client personnel to develop and maintain build plans and schedules
• communicate schedules and tasks to mechanics and technicians
• monitor manpower and deliveries
• support timely, on-budget completion
• prepare and monitor budgets and report metrics
• schedule trades, subcontractors, and suppliers
• manage retrofits and replacements, including field work as needed
• conduct site visits for quality and safety
• support sales and estimating handoffs.
