The Sous Chef role is onsite at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. Pay is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. This is a full-time position with days and hours that may vary. The role supports campus food service and helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook food. The Sous Chef coordinates cooks and other food-service associates and assumes responsibility for the kitchen team when the Executive Chef is absent. The role contributes to timely food production, safe food handling, sanitation, inventory control, and customer service.

What you'll do

• Help the Executive Chef prepare and cook food
• coordinate and supervise food-service associates
• cook according to approved recipes and production standards
• oversee food storage, handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
• maintain sanitation of equipment and work areas
• respond to customer complaints
• explain menu items
• monitor inventory, deliveries, production, consumption, and waste.
