What you'll do

  • Train under the mate or relief mate to learn deckhand duties
  • follow vessel safety procedures and applicable regulations
  • report unsafe conditions and help prevent accidents
  • read the deckhand manual and required materials
  • complete vessel orientation within 24 hours
  • and comply with the Certificate of Inspection when issued.
