What you'll do

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
• verify patient identification and label and handle specimens
• prepare patients and explain procedures
• follow infection-control and specimen-handling procedures
• process and transport specimens
• maintain documentation, supplies, and equipment
• provide compassionate service
• communicate with patients, providers, laboratory staff, and the healthcare team
• protect confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
