The Substance Abuse Counselor role is onsite in Reno, NV. Compensation is $25–$30 per hour plus a bonus structure; the posting also describes a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The schedule is 5:00 AM–12:30 PM, with no nights or Sundays. Behavioral Health Group provides opioid addiction treatment services and supports patients through recovery. The counselor helps patients progress through recovery by providing individual and group counseling, guiding intake and orientation, developing and maintaining individualized treatment plans and records, and connecting patients with community resources. The role also includes follow-up, crisis response, and collecting information about patients’ needs to inform care.

What you'll do

• Provide individual and group counseling for people recovering from drug and alcohol disorders
• guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation
• connect patients with community resources and follow up on referrals
• develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate records
• assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs
• respond compassionately to crisis situations and complete required documentation
• comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
