Job overview

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator role is onsite in Decatur, IL. Pay is $23.18 per hour. The operator rotates through first-, second-, and third-shift assignments, including weekends, for up to two years; the assigned shift afterward depends on District needs and seniority.

What you'll do

• Read meters and gauges
• operate and inspect pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and gates
• complete work orders and equipment maintenance
• record shift activity
• monitor and adjust wastewater treatment processes using laboratory data and SCADA
• respond to alarms
• collect and analyze samples
• clean tanks and equipment
• and assist with plant operations and biosolids land application.
