Job overview

The Youth Care Specialist I works onsite in Los Angeles, CA, on a Sunday–Thursday schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Compensation is $22.00–$26.39 per hour, with a $1.75-per-hour differential for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The Youth Center serves youth up to age 24 who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness in an LGBTQ+ safe and affirming environment. The specialist engages youth facing housing crises, helps prevent homelessness where possible, and connects youth who cannot be diverted to emergency or crisis housing. The role combines direct support, assessment, case management, outreach, programming, and coordination to promote immediate safety and housing stability.

What you'll do

  • Welcome and engage members
  • provide homelessness prevention and supportive services
  • conduct intake and needs assessments
  • collaborate on service and housing stability plans
  • provide crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • assist with basic needs and daily program operations
  • coordinate housing and healthcare connections
  • facilitate youth programming and outreach
  • maintain program data, files, and reports.
