Senior Estimator

Job overview

The Senior Estimator role is onsite and may be based in Owings Mills, MD; Herndon, VA; or Annapolis, MD. Compensation is not specified. The estimator analyzes project documents and compiles construction cost estimates for competitive bid proposals. The role guides bid teams through the bid lifecycle, coordinates scopes and subcontractor proposals, identifies risks, and completes detailed project turnovers when bids are awarded.

What you'll do

• Review project plans and specifications and coordinate a complete scope
• identify risks and their magnitude
• manage responses to invitations to bid
• perform quantity takeoffs
• participate in conceptual budgets with manager oversight
• develop trade scopes and bid tabulations
• gather subcontractor proposals
• coordinate scopes with bid teams
• author trade-specific qualifications and exclusions
• build subcontractor, supplier, and user-group relationships
• attend subcontractor networking events
• complete detailed turnovers of awarded projects to project management.
