The Hardwood Floor Installer / Apprentice role is onsite in the Cedar Rapids, IA area, with pay of $18–$35 per hour based on experience. The locally owned hardwood flooring company serves residential customers and also completes some commercial projects. The installer prepares, installs, sands, stains, seals, and finishes hardwood floors while protecting customer property and maintaining clean jobsites. The role works alongside the owner and offers hands-on training in the full flooring process, including for an apprentice with no prior flooring experience.

What you'll do

• Install hardwood flooring in residential and commercial properties
• sand, stain, seal, and finish floors
• prepare floors and work areas
• measure, cut, and fit flooring materials
• safely operate sanders, saws, hand tools, and other equipment
• protect customer homes, furnishings, and work areas
• maintain clean and organized jobsites
• load, unload, and transport tools and materials
• follow installation, finishing, and safety procedures
• communicate with the owner, coworkers, contractors, and customers.

Why this role
