Plant Maintenance & Automation Technician

Job overview

The Plant Maintenance & Automation Technician role is onsite in Elgin, IL. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour. The technician supports production and facility systems in a food manufacturing environment, working with Operations and Quality to uphold food safety, quality, and production standards. The role maintains equipment reliability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and improvements. Accurate records and safe work practices help keep production lines operating and support compliant manufacturing operations.

What you'll do

• Plan and complete preventive maintenance for production and facility systems
• troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns
• install, modify, and maintain equipment
• inspect equipment for safety, reliability, and performance
• maintain accurate maintenance logs
• coordinate with Quality Assurance on food safety requirements
• propose equipment and process improvements
• apply Lockout/Tagout and wear appropriate PPE
• participate in training
• and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
