Compensation is $0 per year. The Early Childhood Director — Head Start role is onsite in Perkins, OK. The director leads the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma’s Early Childhood Program, including Preschool and Early Head Start services. The director provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure program quality, regulatory compliance, sound grant and fiscal management, and coordinated services for children and families. The role also develops staff and partnerships while fostering a trauma-informed educational culture aligned with the Tribe’s vision and values.

What you'll do

• Prepare grant applications and compliance documents
• manage budgets and monitor cost effectiveness
• implement reporting systems for fiscal, program, and child outcome data
• lead workforce sustainability and compensation initiatives
• ensure compliance with Head Start standards and Oklahoma licensing requirements
• update policies
• supervise and develop staff
• conduct evaluations and corrective actions
• report to the Governing Body and Policy Council
• coordinate mental health supports and community partnerships
• manage self-assessment, community assessment, recruitment, and enrollment
• oversee Tribal Child Care Assistance providers
• improve incident reporting and integrate technology
• coordinate developmental and medical screenings.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, program administration, or related field required; master’s degree preferred; five years of relevant experience and three years of senior leadership or supervisory experience required.
