Independent Living Skills Coach

Job overview

The Independent Living Skills Coach role provides one-on-one support in a person’s home and community in Huntington Beach, CA. Compensation is $18–$22 per hour. The position supports an adult with a disability in building daily living skills and working toward independent housing. The coach teaches, models, and practices practical tasks while gradually reducing support as independence grows. The role promotes dignity, choice, self-advocacy, confidence, and the skills needed to obtain and maintain a home.

What you'll do

• Support grocery planning and shopping, meal preparation, cleaning and housekeeping, medical appointment organization, and housing searches and applications
• teach budgeting and daily routines
• assist with transportation planning or support as authorized
• help organize housing records and communicate with housing contacts
• document progress toward established goals
• encourage participation and independence.
