Forward Deployed AI Engineer

The Forward Deployed AI Engineer role is onsite five days per week in San Francisco, CA. Compensation is $180,000–$300,000 per year plus equity. The client is a Series A company building an AI platform that automates operational work in the insurance brokerage industry. This hands-on, customer-facing engineer owns enterprise engagements from requirements gathering through deployment, building AI agents and automations that address customer workflows. The role also feeds successful customer-specific solutions back into the core platform and partners with product and engineering to turn customer insight into scalable features.

What you'll do

• Own enterprise customer engagements from requirements gathering to deployed solution
• build and ship AI agents and automations
• scope and solve post-sales customer problems
• deliver working solutions on short timelines
• incorporate successful customer-specific work into the core platform
• partner with product and engineering on scalable features. The role uses Python and/or TypeScript and AI automation tooling such as OpenAI or LangChain. Requires 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience, post-sales customer-facing engineering experience, and ability to work onsite in San Francisco five days a week.
