Fire Protection Estimator

The Fire Protection Estimator role is based in an office in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is not specified. The position supports MSS Fire and Security’s construction project estimating and customer proposals. The estimator develops project cost estimates and proposals by reviewing plans and requirements, gathering and comparing trade partner and supplier pricing, and coordinating with estimating and project management teams. The work supports accurate forecasts, bid preparation, project handoffs, and identification of risks and value opportunities.

What you'll do

• Prepare cost estimates and proposals
• review project plans, specifications, and customer requirements
• participate in the bid process and obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing
• maintain current product, service, and labor pricing
• prepare cost reports
• compile and compare scopes and proposals from trade partners, vendors, and subcontractors
• assist with RFQs, takeoffs, and scope reviews
• coordinate cost forecasts with estimating and project management
• identify risks and cost-saving opportunities
• participate in project kickoff meetings
• attend site visits and client meetings
• develop and review quantity takeoffs and subcontract pricing.

Why this role
