The Teacher role is onsite in Taft, TX. Compensation is not specified. The teacher supports the Community Action Corporation of South Texas Head Start Birth to Five program, helping children develop toward school readiness and encouraging parent participation. The teacher plans and delivers individualized, research-based learning experiences, monitors children’s development and safety, and works with families, aides, and program staff. The role contributes to children’s learning and well-being while meeting Head Start and childcare program requirements.

What you'll do

• Plan, document, and implement individualized lesson plans
• use child assessment data and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• maintain required child and program records
• conduct screenings and assessments
• complete home visits and parent-teacher conferences
• supervise children and maintain safe environments
• coordinate with Family Advocates
• supervise and monitor teacher aides.

Why this role

Requires an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related major, with preschool teaching experience; valid Texas driver’s license; DFPS background check and annual physical. Prior Head Start teaching and supervisory experience preferred.
