Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Manager

The Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Manager role is onsite in Farmers Branch, TX, with compensation of $100,000–$130,000 per year. The role leads Hi-Line’s four-person purchasing team and reports to the VP of Operations and Supply Chain. Hi-Line distributes industrial maintenance, repair, and operations products. The manager strengthens supplier performance and product availability while balancing customer demand, quality, cost, and inventory investment. The role uses forecasts, purchasing plans, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination to improve fill rates and inventory decisions.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop the purchasing team
• negotiate supplier pricing, payment terms, lead times, and service expectations
• improve product availability and fill rates through forecasts and replenishment practices
• manage inventory investment
• measure supplier performance and address quality, delivery, and availability concerns
• identify alternative suppliers and respond to shortages and supply risks
• partner on product introductions, transitions, and discontinued items
• maintain purchasing and product data
• strengthen KPI reporting using Excel, ERP data, and business intelligence tools
• resolve cross-department purchasing issues.
