Senior Software Engineer — Enterprise Systems

The Senior Software Engineer — Enterprise Systems role requires regular onsite presence in South San Francisco, CA, including five days per week at an engineering or operations hub, manufacturing floor, or test/commercial operations site when local. The starting cash range is $150,000–$230,000 per year. The Enterprise Systems team builds operational software supporting Zipline’s global autonomous delivery system. The engineer owns and advances mission-critical systems used across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, parts traceability, and inventory. The role contributes to reliable production and aircraft throughput by designing and operating high-availability services, integrating software with physical hardware, and working directly with operations teams to improve workflows.

What you'll do

• Own technical direction for manufacturing execution, supply chain, finance, parts traceability, and inventory systems
• define APIs, data models, and service boundaries
• build resilient integrations with hardware tooling
• establish service metrics, SLAs, and runbooks
• participate in on-call rotation and incident response
• work with manufacturing, supply chain, and flight operations teams
• mentor peers and improve CI/CD and automated testing practices.
