The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) role is onsite at the Bronx or Brooklyn base in New York, NY. Compensation is $20.50 to $25 per hour. Assist Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency medical and transportation services across New York City’s five boroughs. The EMT provides Basic Life Support in accordance with New York State and regional EMS protocols. The role supports emergency response and patient transportation for hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctors’ offices, and community organizations.

What you'll do

• Provide Basic Life Support and ambulance transportation in accordance with Department of Health and NYC Regional EMS protocols
• work at least two steady eight-hour shifts per week on the same days
• meet physical lifting requirements
• attend in-person pre-hire assessments and, if eligible to drive, a separate driving assessment.

Why this role

Requires an active New York State EMT-B card; an NREMT card alone is not accepted. EMTs hired as drivers must be at least 20 and have one year of New York City driving experience.
