The Transfer Station Operator I role is onsite in Troy, OH. Pay is $18–$19 per hour. The position supports daily operations of the Miami County Sanitary Engineering department. The operator handles equipment and materials at the transfer station, supporting solid-waste disposal and recycling while assisting customers and maintaining safe, orderly facility operations. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., and every other Saturday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

What you'll do

• Operate a semi-tractor to transfer solid waste for disposal or recycling
• assist with loading and compacting waste
• inspect equipment and check maintenance needs
• process materials
• assist customers and enforce safety rules
• maintain grounds and facilities
• and perform custodial duties as directed.
