The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
What you'll do
- Serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care.
- Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
- Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, vital signs, psychosocial support).
- Assists resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining.
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services.
- Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs.
What we're looking for
- Education
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Experience
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months.
