What you'll do

• Conduct shift staff meetings
• identify and address nursing care problems
• report to the Director of Nursing
• coordinate nursing services with other resident services
• investigate accidents
• interpret policies and procedures
• delegate responsibilities to charge nurses
• make unit rounds
• check emergency equipment and supplies
• orient and evaluate staff
• ensure adequate staffing
• oversee resident care, medication passes, treatments, and medication records
• participate in quality improvement, surveys, committees, and infection control
• start and restart IVs when ordered and necessary.
