Senior Ground Software Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Ground Software Engineer role is onsite in Long Beach, CA; compensation is $140,000–$220,000 per year. Odin Dynamics develops autonomous underwater vehicles for defense and allied naval missions. As the responsible engineer for the ground software stack, this hands-on role builds and supports production software across the full lifecycle. The work enables mission planning, vehicle supervision, telemetry analysis and field operations in demanding communications and operating environments.

What you'll do

• Own ground software requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, validation, field and production support
• build frontend and backend mission-planning and operator tools
• develop APIs, telemetry pipelines, storage, visualization and analysis capabilities
• create geospatial workflows
• support connected and disconnected deployments
• collaborate with autonomy, embedded, avionics, test and operations teams
• validate software through unit, integration, system, simulation, replay, SIL and HITL testing
• analyze failures and improve reliability
• mentor engineers and support field tests and sea trials when required.
