Senior HVAC Mechanic

Job overview

The Senior HVAC Mechanic role is onsite in Washington, DC, maintaining commercial HVAC and central plant systems in a mission-critical environment. Compensation is $50–$55 per hour. M.C. Dean designs, builds, operates, and maintains secure, resilient power and technology systems for mission-critical facilities.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and central plant systems
• diagnose refrigeration, chillers, cooling towers, hydronics, boilers, air distribution, electrical, and building automation systems
• perform preventive and corrective maintenance and emergency repairs
• coordinate shutdowns, vendors, and BAS changes
• guide technicians and document work in InfraLink/CMMS
• follow safety and refrigerant procedures.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 8 years of hands-on HVAC/mechanical experience, plus a current journeyman license, VMET certification with equivalent experience, or equivalent training and experience. Government screening and U.S. citizenship eligibility apply; support for shifts, overtime, weekends, outages, and emergencies is required.
