The schedule is Monday through Friday, with eight-hour shifts beginning at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. The nurse supports the ambulatory surgery center’s preoperative process within EyeCare Partners’ clinically integrated eye-care network. The nurse coordinates pre-admission testing and patient readiness by reviewing medical information, conducting phone assessments, and communicating with physicians, anesthesia staff, and surgeons. This work helps address preoperative questions and support a smooth surgery schedule.
What you'll do
- Maintain a database tracking surgical patients
- coordinate scheduling communications
- obtain and review pre-admission testing
- conduct phone assessments to collect medical and medication histories
- obtain information from primary care and specialty physicians
- communicate with anesthesia staff and surgeons
- and evaluate allergies and arrange allergy testing when appropriate.
