Principal Software Engineer

The role provides technical leadership for Ally product areas, platforms, and complex engineering initiatives. The engineer guides architecture and technical direction, leads high-impact work, and establishes practices that keep software secure, resilient, and scalable. By remaining technically engaged and mentoring across teams, the role improves engineering quality and supports critical platforms and future technology needs.

What you'll do

• Set technical direction and guide architecture, design, integration, and implementation decisions
• lead complex initiatives from strategy and design through production
• serve as an escalation point and reviewer for high-impact technical decisions
• translate business and product priorities into technical direction
• establish engineering standards and guide modernization
• mentor engineers across experience levels
• evaluate and drive adoption of tools, frameworks, automation, and AI-assisted development practices.
